Reflection

I really liked the poetry, and some of my favorite poems that I wrote was the haiku, and many of the other poems like the acrostic one I wrote about K-State. I really like to write poems that just rhyme and kind of follow some sort of a pattern. I also liked writing the poetry, it makes me feel good and proud of myself. The basic thing that my web portfolio says about me is what I like. I like pie, and I like Kansas State, Kansas City, and dogs. All of these poems are pretty much about what I like and enjoy to do like playing football, or staying warm in a cold, cold winter. I never knew how many types of poetry there were until this unit. I have never heard of the dorsimbra, and I never knew that there was a free verse, where its like writing a three stanza essay over something you like or care about.-152

Winter(Dorsimbra)

I like when the leaves change red
And the weather starts to get chilly
Its nice and gets me out of bed
Dancing in the snow makes me feel silly
How fun it is to frolic in snow
and to make many snowmen and snow angels
And young children running about
It makes me happy and warm inside
And now that you know
How much I like snow
And the holidays
With many days yet

Green(Bingo Extra)

The color of green
Is the best I've ever seen
When I'm down I look to you
You are green and won't make me blue
How happy I am to see
It's the official color of me
How someone doesn't like you
Now that does make me blue
And that makes me sad
Its not your fault, they make me mad.

Pie(Sensory)

The taste of warm fruit smothering your tongue
As the smell of fruit fills the air
It looks as golden as a ring just purchased
A warm sensation and a sticky mess
the sound of a ding of the oven timer
Has crowds rush to the pie!

Float(Art Response)

Have you ever wondered to live off the ground
The feeling of floating
Can make people frown
What the difference with a city on the float
You get the sense of being on a boat
Are there no trees in this floating city
No, it is urban, and what a pity
So never live in a city that can float
And you can never leave
That's what this is about
And and to me a pet peeve!

Time(Borrowed)

What is life if, full of care
With waiting and watching
No time to share
What to do when life is there
And some people cannot bear
The feeling of this
One that they would not miss
They relax and take it day by day
Many people feel this way

*First line was used from the poem "Leisure" by W.H. Davies*

First, Last(Synonym)

First
Beginning, ahead, maiden, opening
Coming in first a trophy will bring
Last
Behind, final, concluding, terminal
Coming in last you can share with your pal
